Ricardo Schlieper has stated that he has an agreement with Ajax that his client Nicolás Tagliafico will be allowed to move clubs this summer.
The left-back has been linked with a potential move to Arsenal in the coming window, which may well open the door for Bukayo Saka to return to his favoured position on the wing.
The 18-year-old has thoroughly impressed in a number roles this term, but in the absence of Kieran Tierney to injury, he moved to cover at left-back.
Another option to come in at left-back would likely help Saka to return to his favoured role, and Tagliafico may well be that man.
Barcelona and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the Argentine international, with Ajax supposedly asking for very reasonable £20 Million for his signature.
“We are looking for a transfer for Tagliafico. We have agreed with Ajax that he would leave this year. After having spent two and a half seasons at the club, it’s the ideal moment,” Ricardo Schlieper stated.
“If football goes back to being normal, a transfer could be done for Tagliafico. There are clubs that are interested but we have to see how everything pans out (with the ongoing global health crisis).”
Nicolas is a very attacking-minded defender, scoring 12 goals and picking up 15 assists in 99 appearances in all competitions since joining Ajax in January of 2018 for a reported €4.5 Million fee.
Will Arsenal be looking to sign another left-back this summer? Should Tierney be worried of the links to Tagliafico?
