Arsenal XI against Man City

Mikel Arteta has named his Arsenal XI against Man City this evening and for the most part, it was what was expected.

Arteta has left Mesut Ozil out which will raise a few highbrows and kept faith with Eddie Nketiah over Alexandre Lacazette.

The Gunners need the win really, however, a draw would still represent a decent result and Arteta obviously thinks this is the team to achieve a positive result in Manchester this evening.

Arsenal team to face Man City

Bernd Leno
Kieran Tierney
Shkodran Mustafi
Pablo Mari
Hector Bellerin
Granit Xhaka
Matteo Guendouzi
Joe Willock
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Eddie Nketiah
Bukayo Saka

City has had the measure of Arsenal for the last few seasons, however, it is very different circumstances now. There is no telling what the effects of such a long lay off will have on the respective teams.

It should also be noted that Arsenal have had a couple of friendly games, whereas City have basically only done some inter squad matches.

What do you think to the Arsenal XI against Man City? Is this the sort of team you would have selected to take on the Premier League champions in their own back yard?

You can follow the game live on SkySports or via text on the club website.
