Arsenal continues to be interested in signing Real Madrid’s Achraf Hakimi, who is on loan with German giants Borussia Dortmund but they are not alone, according to reports.
The Moroccan has spent the last two seasons on loan at Dortmund and his impressive performances have caught the attention of several top European sides.
Real wants him to return to the Bernabeu at the end of this season to fight for his place but the defender is not interested in becoming a squad player under Zinedine Zidane.
Zidane will reportedly sit down with him to discuss his future as he will enter the final season of his current deal with the former European champions when this campaign officially ends.
The Daily Mail claims that Arsenal is one of several top teams that are targeting a move for Hakimi as he continues to shine in Dortmund.
The Germans want him to remain with them permanently, but Chelsea, Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Juventus, as well as other teams also want him.
Mikel Arteta signed a new full-back in the last transfer window after he made a deal with Southampton for Cedric Soares, but Soares hasn’t played for Arsenal and he isn’t seen as a long term solution to Arsenal’s problems at right-back.
Hector Bellerin’s persistent injuries have been a source of frustration for Arsenal and the Gunners could sell him off in the summer.
