Omar Rekik has reportedly touched down in London to complete his move from Hertha Berlin to Arsenal, according to Metro Sport.
The Gunners made their move for the 18-year-old in the last transfer window as a part of the deal that saw Matteo Guendouzi move to the German side on loan for the rest of the season.
The deal should have been completed in that time, but time ran out on the Gunners and he remained in Berlin.
The next transfer window gives Arsenal the chance to complete the transfer, and the report says that he has touched down in London.
The 18-year-old is highly rated, but he isn’t expected to be a part of the Arsenal first-team set up when he joins.
The Gunners will rather look to blood him through their under23 team for now and hopefully, he would be worth it.
William Saliba who joined the Gunners from Saint Etienne is yet to play for the club and Rekik will know that he would have to work really hard to get his first-team chance.
The likes of Bukayo Saka and Joe Willock are positive examples of players who have broken through the club’s youth team and they will serve as an inspiration to him.
