There has been reports come out which have suggested we will try to prise Swansea defender Ashley Williams to the Emirates, as boss Arsene Wenger looks to recruit a new central defender
He has once again been in brilliant form this season and has firmly established himself as one of the best central defenders in the Premier League.
Wenger is a big admirer of Williams and is looking for more leadership, physicality and stability in defence, with the Wales captain being viewed as a viable option for the Gunners.
Williams only signed a new three-year contract last October, but Swansea are understood to be bracing themselves for a flurry of bids in the summer with us and Liverpool the ones that are leading the chase.
Williams could be a great addition to the squad and his £8 million asking price is nothing compared to what we are willing to pay for some defenders across Europe.
So although Swansea may be very reluctant to sell, his ambitions may take him to one of the big boys and I wouldn’t mind if he made the decision to make a move to London and ply his trade in a Gunners shirt.
