Reports today claim that Arsenal has spoken with representatives of Max Allegri.
Sunday Times journalist Duncan Castle is claiming that Arsenal has reached out to the representatives of Massimiliano Allegri.
Castle broke the news on the Transfer window Podcast and that is not all he had to say. He is also claiming that Arsenal will be having an unscheduled board meeting within the next 48 hours.
Apparently the Arsenal board will be discussing the current situation and the future of Unai Emery.
The former Juventus boss lives in London where he is learning to speak English. However, it would be a mistake to automatically put two and two together.
Where Castle got this info from he does not say and one can only assume that it is still speculation at this stage.
It really is only a matter of time before the Spaniard is sacked and Allegri would be a top-class replacement. Certainly, one that would be welcomed by the fans.
The signs are that all this will come to a head within the next few days and a disappointing result against Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday evening would surely spell the end.
Though, it must be said that was thought to be the case if Arsenal did not beat Southampton.
