This Arsenal vs Liverpool match preview is far from a negative one and for very good reasons.
Arsenal will welcome Liverpool in what is a must-win match for the Gunners in their bid to play in Europe next season.
Liverpool has already won the Premier League and has nothing to play for, but the Reds are targeting a record-equalling season as they can still match or break Manchester City’s 100 points per season record.
Mikel Arteta’s men suffered a crushing 2-1 loss to Tottenham the last time out. That game was like a jackpot to decide which team would finish above the other in the Premier League this season, and the Gunners will do the chasing now.
Liverpool has beaten us twice this season already, however, Mikel Arteta has earned points against the likes of Manchester United, Leicester City and Chelsea since he became our manager and he will be confident of spoiling Liverpool’s march towards 100 points.
Arsenal is unbeaten at home in the Premier League this year, but they haven’t won any of their last four home league games against the Reds losing one and picking up draws in the other three.
We have been in better form since the return of football and I expect that we will return from that loss to Spurs better, but Liverpool has always presented a strong challenge for us.
But wanting to bounce back from that loss to Spurs, the carrot of European football still there and Liverpool not as intense as they were earlier in the season I do see us picking up at least a point this evening.
