Brendan Rodgers to Arsenal starting to gain momentum.
Arsenal has been looking to get a new manager on a permanent basis. The Gunners fired Unai Emery last week and they gave Freddie Ljungberg the job on a temporary basis.
The Swede started his reign with a 2-2 draw at Norwich over the weekend but the club is looking to get a new permanent boss, with Brendan Rodgers one of their targets.
Reports from Mirror Sports claimed last week that Rodgers features at the top of the list of targets for the Gunners, and the former Liverpool may be eyeing the seat.
The Mirror further claims that Rodgers has a release clause on his Leicester contract and the former Celtic boss appears to confirm that claim when asked after their match against Everton this weekend.
“There probably is [a clause] in most manager’s contracts. It is all hypothetical,” Rodgers said while speaking to Sky Sports.
“My focus is very much with Leicester. I made a change nine months ago and I have been very happy since I came here. We still have a lot of work to do.
“Most manager’s contracts will have something in but my focus is here.”
The release clause on his deal is believed to be £14 Million..
