Latest Arsenal transfers

Arsenal is one of the most speculated football teams in England when it comes to transfers and despite the reality of financial restrictions amind the Coronavirus pandemic the media appear convinced that there will be a number of incomings and outgoing signings this summer.

There are tons of rumours swirling around at this moment in time which can basically be broken down to five main pieces of gossip that seem to be dominating the media.

These are the latest Arsenal transfer updates on the three biggest rumours involving the Gunners right now.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

There is conflicting information about the Gabonese maestro but right now the only thing we know as an absolute fact is what Aubameyang and Mikel Arteta have said publicly.

Arteta has said that he is “pretty positive” about a deal (BBC) and Auba has said per Sky Sports, “The ball is in their court now, so it’s down to them to do their bit and we’ll see how it goes”.

So, nothing has been agreed and it is down to Arsenal to convince Auba to stay.

Chances of Aubameyang staying 7/10

Thomas Partey

Partey does seem to be the main Arsenal transfer target and there has been an abundance of reports ranging from Arsenal offering to triple his wages (The Sun) to a variety of claims from his father including warning Arsenal that there are other interested parties (TeamTalk).

This one does seem to have some legs to it, there are of course many complications including Atletico Madrid reportedly wanting to extend his contract and his release clause but there are positive signs that this particular transfer saga could be real.

Chances of Partey signing 7/10

Dayot Upamecano

Upamecano has been on the Arsenal rumour radar for at least two transfer windows and this summer will represent the third window that the Frenchman has been linked with a move to the Emirates.

Only this week it was being reported in the Express that Mikel Arteta has agreed a fee with RB Leipzig for the 22-year-old central defender.

Of course, within the next couple of days, it had been debunked with The Sun reporting that Arsenal has turned their attention to Axel Disasi instead.

Chances of Arsenal signing Upamecano 2/10

In conclusion

One can be reasonably confident that Aubameyang will stay and be joined by Partey but it is very unlikely that Upamecano will sign on. That said, if Auba leaves and neither Partey or Upamecano joins the club it would not be the biggest surprise in the world, it is Arsenal after all.
