Arsenal has cut short the loan spell of Eddie Nketiah after he struggled to get game time at Leeds United.
The 20 years old joined the promotion hopefuls on loan from Arsenal at the start of the season. But things haven’t gone to plan so far.
He was rarely used and was afforded a rare start on New Year’s day, he was, however, hooked at half time. Arsenal has now decided to terminate his loan.
Now back at the Emirates, he is expected to head out on-loan again, however, Arteta has claimed that he would speak with the youngster before a decision on his future is made again.
“I’m having a meeting tomorrow with Edu and Raul to go through all the loans and situations” Arteta said after Arsenal’s match against Manchester United.
“I know he’s coming tomorrow so I will speak to him and try to make the best decision for him.”
The Championship side and the player have taken to social media to confirm the end of his loan spell.
Nketiah is highly-regarded at the Emirates. It’s unclear if Arteta will keep him on as his backup striker or allow him to go on another loan.
Bristol City is reported to be waiting to take him on. They were one of his suitors before he chose to join Leeds over the summer.
