Former Arsenal players cannot stop being critical about the current team and their prospects for the season.
The likes of Martin Keown, Sol Campbell, Tony Adams, Ian Wright and Paul Merson find it difficult to say anything positive about Unai Emery’s side and you can now add Lee Dixon to that list.
Dixon is of the opinion that Arsenal not only need to improve but that the other top sides have to falter as well.
Speaking to the Daily Star Dixon said: “Well, I look at the top four and the way the teams have started and I’m kind of going ‘This is going to be really hard’.
“Obviously Arsenal’s start, although we’ve picked up a couple of wins, we gave a huge amount of chances away against West Ham, and likewise there were opportunities in the other games.
“I’m not confident, it’s going to take a while and I look at the top four now and I’m going ‘Where are we going to get in?’
“We’ve got to improve a lot and other teams have got to slip up.”
What teams would they be? Would they be Man Utd who lost to Brighton and got humiliated at home by Spurs, would they be Tottenham who lost to Watford?
Yes, Arsenal lost to Man City and Chelsea but it is a big stretch to say that Man Utd and even Tottenham are in much better shape than us, they are not, especially United and even Man City dropped points against Wolves.
Yes we have issues but we are not alone and this constant negativity from former Gunners is just undermining the club, it certainly is not helping.
