Norwich City vs Arsenal preview – Will there be a new manager boost for Freddie Ljungberg?
Freddie Ljungberg takes charge of his first Arsenal game and confidence is high that it will be a winning start.
Norwich City has gone backwards since their stunning win over Manchester City. However, they did get back to winning ways away to Everton last week.
The Canaries will be fully aware of what has happened at Arsenal this week and will be wary. But they will be prepared for Arsenal coming out of the traps very fast and will be looking to counter early on.
I suspect they will look to pressure Arsenal after the initial onslaught, which has been a pattern in recent Arsenal games.
Ljungberg will know what has been the issue with Arsenal for a while now. The failure to maintain consistency, getting the basics all wrong, players out of position, wrong formations and so on. He will surely not make the same mistakes that Unai Emery did.
There will be late fitness tests for Hector Bellerin, David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi and of those three I see only Bellerin starting.
Mesut Ozil may miss out, it is hard to see how he can play if Ljungberg goes with Pepe, Aubameyang and Lacazette, which I think he will. The midfield would be far too weak if Ozil plays with those three.
Willock was very impressive midweek and Ljungberg does trust the youngsters and Torreira and Guendouzi are almost certain starters.
This is the line-up Ljungberg may go with
In terms of what the score will be, I do see Norwich City scoring but if Ljungberg plays the right formation and issues the right instructions then Arsenal should win.
I am going for a 3-2 win for Arsenal in what will be a very exciting game.
