So another year has come and gone at the Emirates Stadium and the Gunners still haven’t won the Premier League title since ‘The Invincibles’. Arsene Wenger’s men fell short this season and there’s simply no excuse for more failure in the 2016/17 campaign. To win the title, the Arsenal board need to invest – they need at least three signings to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea at the top of the table.

At the time of writing, Arsenal are priced at 5/1 to win the crown in Coral’s football betting odds and they are certainly capable of going all the way, providing they manage to acquire a few more players – not necessarily to start but to add strength in depth and competition across the squad. Here are three stars that could fire Arsenal to the title next season.

Alexandre Lacazette

Alexandre Lacazette is one of the top-rated strikers in European football and the Gunners could do much worse than the current Lyon forward. In fact, Lacazette has scored 11 goals in his last nine league games for Lyon – an incredible achievement considering his poor run of form at the start of the campaign.

Arsenal fans will be praying that the Gunners move for a world class striker this summer. As fans sit waiting for the 2016/17 match schedules, Lacazette’s France – priced at 7/2 in Coral’s football betting odds – will be competing at Euro 2016. And while Giroud made Didier Deschamps’ 23-man squad at Lacazette’s expense, Arsenal fans will still be hoping Wenger makes a move for the Lyon striker before the transfer window shuts.

Saul Niguez

The Atletico Madrid star is an exceptionally gifted footballer, renowned for his work ethic off the ball and his technical ability on it. Saul has been a key component for Atletico this season and his goal in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final triumph over Bayern Munich was a goal worthy of winning any football match.

Arsenal will have to pay through the roof for Saul but he’s a worthy investment. At just 21 years old, he is one of Europe’s brightest young prospects and the Gunners will face stiff competition for his signature – especially as he may feature at the European Championship this summer.

Felipe Anderson

If Theo Walcott leaves Arsenal this summer, they will need to sign a replacement winger and who better than Felipe Anderson. The Lazio star has been linked with a move to Manchester United but it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see Arsenal come in with a late bid and hijack the move.

If nothing else, Anderson would fit Arsenal’s style of play and the thought of him forming a relationship with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil is frightening. The Gunners may have to place a bid of at least £30 million to get Lazio’s attention but Anderson’s exploits in Serie A certainly warrant that kind of valuation. He’d be a dangerous asset to Arsenal going forward.
