Arsenal has to meet two Aubameyang wishes to get him to sign a new contract.
Arsenal is taking it one day at a time knowing that there is every possibility that they won’t be able to call Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang their player after this season.
The Gabonese attacker won the Premier League’s Golden Boot last season and he is currently joint-top of the scoring charts again with 17 league goals.
He is also Arsenal’s captain and their most important player as they rebuild the club.
However, he has just 18 more months left on his current deal and links to other teams just won’t go away.
Barcelona and Inter Milan are the teams consistently linked with signing him, but Arsenal is confident that they can keep hold of their star man beyond his current deal.
The club is said to have opened talks with the attacker before now but his camp showed no willingness to strike a new deal.
Le10Sport claims that the Gunners last held talks with the attacker before Mikel Arteta became their new manager.
At the time, two concerns which made renewing his contract unappealing to Aubameyang, according to the report.
The report claims that the attacker didn’t want to sign because he craves Champions League football. He also didn’t see a need to sign because he had doubts over Arsenal’s desire to sign top quality players.
